This page started out as a bunch of links that might be of interest to you. Over the years though, most of those listed have disappeared, and in several cases if reflects the difficulties faced by small firms who offer an alternative to the traditional (overpriced) suppliers - especially in the real estate industry. Those who criticise the conduct of banks also seem to be "short-lived". The website that have disappeared are still listed below, but under a "Dead Links" heading. Summary of Links that appear below
Dead Links
Live Links
Notgoodenough.orgA neatly constructed site that expresses robust opinions on a range of consumer (and political) issues. It reflects the way many suppliers big and small are failing to do the right thing by consumers, and it identifies a problem that is painfully obvious to disadvantaged consumers - "self-regulation" and "codes of conduct" are a nonsense. NotGoodEnough.org CrikeyAn extraordinary window on the persuaders that underlie our political and commercial systems. http://www.crikey.com.au Other linksWe encourage you to list your site if it offers something of interest. Dead LinksNetguide.com.auA good "no nonsense" source of information about making use of the Net. Click on the banner to go to the Netguide site at www.netguide.com.au. You're Shafted"You're Shafted" reflects the sort of anger that exists amongst consumers
(Consumers were once considered to have rights but activities that are
hostile to consumer interests are rarely reported when they stand in the
path of commercial activity). Property Owners Association (Vic/Tas)A group that reflects the concerns and problems of those who provide
housing for others. Unfortunately, although the Victorian Government is
supportive of "parasitic" real estate activity (and even funds self
promotion by the rich real estate agency industry) it seems zealous in its
discrimination against those who actually generate bricks and mortar for
real people to live in. The Property Owners Association was years ahead of
the media in identifying the impending destruction of many Victorian
businesses by escalating rates of annual land tax. realestateguide.com.auOnline listing of properties offered for sale by vendors throughout Australia. Been going for some years now so it must be doing something right. The direct link to the Victorian properties page is http://www.realestateguide.com.au/property/victoria/ privatesale.com.auA free advertising site for DIY sellers - www.privatesale.com.au Coast to Coast magazineA printed magazine listing properties around Australia. Vendors with properties of potential interest to interstate buyers might find this magazine of interest. Their email is ctoc@bigpond.com. www.antibanks.com.au - this site really hit the banks hard but disappeared in a flash - probably under some heavy threats (- now who might have made threats?). http://www.house4sale.com.au - this site is still there but it has changed its function. Gosee for a bit of entertainment - who knows - you might even need a solar doghouse like those now advertised on the site NineMSN(NineMsn is obviously not gone but the following link is gone - guess
such links have a limited life).
